Event Report, Nankyu Chapter February 2020

As precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19, administrators of the venue (Sojo University, Kumamoto) cancelled this event just days before it was scheduled to take place. Conference organizers were able to set up an online environment using BigBlueButton and continue most of the conference as planned. However, NanKyu’s financial support of the event and subsequent deal that had been struck offering free admission to the Networking Dinner for NanKyu members had to be called off. Regardless, several NanKyu members gave and attended presentations and workshops through the online venue, and were able to meet and greet with travelers who made the trip to Kumamoto.
