The Listening SIG is for teachers and researchers interested in the teaching and learning concerned with listening. The SIG was formed by the officers connecting at previous conferences who all shared a common interest in listening. Since 2018, we have continued to actively connect teachers and researchers with similar interests to write articles, share ideas in presentations, and support each other with teaching ideas and resources. We feel that this new SIG would benefit many of JALTโs current and potential members and reach a broader membership who have an interest in Listening and other facets of teaching. Therefore, this motion is to formally get our constitution approved and added to the overall JALT organization. The constitution and our contributions as a Listening SIG are discussed below.
