The JALT CEFR LP SIG discusses and researches the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference of Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessing, COE 2011) and theย CEFR Companion Volumeย (CEFR/CV; COE, 2020)ย and theย European Language Portfolio (ELP)ย and its use as an conceptual tool in Japan and beyond in the field of foreign language education. We aim to connect to practitioners in foreign language teaching in Japan, Asia and worldwide and build a community of practice. The information provided here is from practitioners / researchers to practitioners / researchers sharing and for them, exchanging results on the CEFR, related tools and the huge impact on the foreign language teaching world wide.
JALT CEFR & LP SIGย (forming in November 2008 as JALTย Framework and Language Portfolio Special Interest Group (FLP SIG), renamed to JALT CEFR & LP SIG in November 2017)ย had gathered interested individuals to garner ideas, discuss developments, and coordinate efforts. If you want to get involved, you are more than welcome to share. You find on the homepage information on our newsletters, publications, the CEFR Journal – research and practice and other. – JALT is an non-profit organization, and CEFR & LP SIG is a special interest group. We organize SIG events, do publications (including Newsletterย andย CEFR Journal – Research and Practice) and our homepage, to disseminate the results. We are grateful for JSPS Kaken research funding to be able to set up and support this homepage to disseminate the research results.
Since 2012 we were able to receive continuously Kaken Research projects, involving successfully SIG members, JALT members and colleagues from Japan and abroad, often resulting into book publications, articles and more. Come, join and engage in the SIG! You are welcome.
