JALT 2017 Special Election Results

Dear JALT members,
From Friday, November 17th at 5pm to Sunday, November 19th at 3:40pm, JALT members cast their votes anonymously at the JALT National Conference in Tsukuba. Additionally, exactly 30 votes were cast by mail from 15 letters that were sent to JALT Central Office on or before Thursday, November 16th, as per e-mail notification sent to the membership, as well as noted on the JALT.org website.
For the position of JALT Auditor, a total of 241 votes were cast. Ms. Aleda Krause was the recipient of 165 votes, Mr. James McCrostie received 75 votes, and Mr. Joe Tomei received one write-in vote. Therefore, Ms. Krause is the JALT Auditor.
For the position of JALT Director of Public Relations, a total of 236 votes were cast. Mr. Kenn Gale was the recipient of 57 votes, and Ms. Parisa Mehran received 179 votes. Ms. Mehran is therefore the JALT Director of Public Relations. The Nominations and Elections Committee would like to assure our JALT membership that this election was carried out anonymously, and in accordance with our Constitution and By-Laws.
