Teacher Development SIG Forum – Building Language Competencies Through Community

We’re excited to open the call for proposals for Teacher Development Forum at PanSIG! The forum will feature 2-3 presenters. Each presentation should include an interactive activity exemplifying the practice for discussion. Each presentation lasts 30 minutes (or longer) of the 90-minute forum, which always makes it memorable experience for everyone involved. Submit your abstract via Google Forms here. Let’s collaborate and build language competencies through dynamic community-driven discussions!

Highlighted Themes for Proposal Submissions

Submit your proposals focusing on one of the following engaging themes that explore diverse approaches to building language competencies through community:

Collaborative Learning Strategies: Share innovative group activities and peer feedback methods that enhance language learning through teamwork.
Cultivating Resilience, Adaptability, Motivation: Discuss practices that foster a growth mindset in students, helping them embrace challenges and learn from mistakes.
Integrating Real-World Experiences: Highlight ways to connect language learning with authentic experiences, such as cultural exchanges or community projects.
Utilizing Technology to Foster Community: Explore digital tools that can enhance collaboration and create virtual learning environments that connect learners.
Innovative Assessment Practices: Present creative assessment methods that encourage collaboration and focus on constructive peer feedback.

Both new and experienced presenters are welcome! 2-3 presenters will be selected and your presentation slot will be either a 20- or 30-minute slot followed by 10-15 minutes of discussion time. This interaction is customary for TD forums and you can devise it with discussion rounds, collaborative tasks, or in other ways.

If accepted, we will guide you through the presentation process and anything you might need.
