Call for Proposals
The Yamagata JALT Chapter welcomes submissions ofย presentations/workshopsย in English or Japanese on various aspects of language learning and teaching. In particular, this yearโ€™s theme will highlight practical strategies to teach and learn a language more effectively, efficiently, and enjoyably. Presenters are encouraged to submit proposals related to teaching strategies, classroom management, evaluation, second language acquisition, or any other topics of interest to those in the language teaching community including elementary school through tertiary education.
Submissions are to include the following information:
Contact information: Presenter’s full name, affiliation, and email address Presentation title: Maximum 15 words
Presentation summary: Maximum 75 words – for use on the website only
Extended abstract: Maximum 175 words – to be included in the conference handout Presenter biography: Maximum 50 words
Presenters should submit their proposal as a PDF or Word file on or beforeย July 19, 2024. Please submit to Jerry Miller atย java@e.yamagata-u.ac.jp

โ— ย Successful candidates will be notified within 2 weeks of the close of call for proposals.

โ— ย Presentations will be 30 minutes each. (5-10 minutes for questions at the speakerโ€™s discretion.)

โ— ย Workshops will be 45 minutes or 1 hour, at the speakerโ€™s discretion.

โ— ย Photos and a summary of the event will be made available on the Yamagata JALT web page
following the event.

โ— ย A dinner is planned for the evening of Saturday 9/21.

โ— ย All presenters are kindly requested to join an open discussion in the afternoon.
