(Part 1)

Masako Moriwaki

“Feedback in the young learner classroom”

We give feedback to students in various ways – correcting errors, giving comments or advice, or in the form of test scores. Can we make them into language learning and practicing activities? I think we should! I’d like to share some examples of how I incorporate feedback-based discussions, pair-conversations, self-evaluation checklists and learner’s diaries in language lessons. The examples come from an English language school in Brazil as well as Eikaiwa schools for young learners in Japan. I hope you will learn something new to make your teaching exciting!

Randall Wallingsford

“Original resource making with Canva”

Learning resources for students should be an original process for all teachers. Being limited to textbooks and worksheets reduces the creativity of the teacher themself. We will have a short presentation on the types of beneficial learning resources, homeworks, and activities that are not only engaging and helpful for students, but help to increase the trust with parents. Following a few steps we will all be able to make productive forms for classroom and office use  With the use of a very popular application, creating these will be fun for teachers and students alike. I look forward to having this fun discussion with everyone.

(Part 2)

Game sharing forum

We utilize and invent many games to teach English to young learners every day. Let’s share some of our favorite games and also learn other fun ideas from colleagues all over Japan! We’d like to invite you to share your game activity ideas in this forum. We will also have a Padlet wall to post your ideas. Let’s enjoy learning new game activities!
