Building up students’ ability to speak out and have discussions

This presentation will be aimed at teachers of teenagers, college students and adults. The first part will look at some ideas for motivating low-level students to speak out. The second part will look at how to build all students’ ability to have discussions.  The ideas for low level students will be from the courses ‘Communicate’ and ‘Motivate’, but these books will not be introduced during the presentation. The ideas for building discussion skills will be based on ‘Discussion Skills’, the presenter’s new course, and this course will be introduced.

About the speaker

Over his career, David Paul has built up a successful group of schools in Hiroshima, Korea and Thailand, and used this as a platform to support the professional development of teachers. He has written a number of best-selling ELT books.
