Niigata

JALT Niigata is proud to provide educators with a Niigata-based forum for professional development through regular presentations, workshops and social events. We typically host between 5 and 10 events per year that cover topics ranging from the practical to the theoretical. We actively provide something for everyone and hold events of interest to those at different levels of education, backgrounds and interests. In 2020 JALT Niigata quickly pivoted to providing online meetings, which we continued in 2021 and 2022. To watch videos of our online presentations, and previous JALT Niigata events, please check the ‘Watch’ tab on our site here and subscribe to our YouTube channel below. 

Since 2023, we have moved into hybrid and in-person events. In addition to several chapter events each year, we also host the annual NEAR Conference, held in-person in Niigata City. Our 2024 conference, in June, was a big success. Please be on the lookout for our Call for Proposals for next year’s conference.
Our mission: JALT promotes excellence in language learning, teaching and research by providing opportunities for those involved in language education to meet, share and collaborate.

JALTは日本国内及び国外における語学の教育及び学習の向上を目指すNPO法人で、35の支部と26の分野別研究部会からなる約3,000人の語学専門家の学術団体です。新潟支部は、新潟県および近隣エリア在住の外国語教員に対し、定期的なプレゼンテーションやワークショップ、ミーティングなどの参加者同士の意見交換の機会を提供し、専門能力の開発を目的とした活動を行っています。様々な教育現場で活躍する語学教員を対象とした、実践的な内容から理論的内容まで幅広いトピックを取り上げたイベントを年間6回ほど開催しています。
