Site Information

This year sees our return to the National Olympics Memorial Youth Center in Yoyogi.
The site itself is very versatile and suitable for our needs. For the conference we will be using four of the buildings, the Athletics Building, Arts Building, Central Building and the International Exchange Building. As always, we ask that participants treat the venue with care and respect. Please remove any trash you bring to the site or use the bins provided as they are labeled. The site has plenty of space outside for casual walks, and Yoyogi Park is nearby for the more adventurous sports enthusiasts.
Most of the conference presentations as well as the JALT Junior activities (Rooms 301-304) will be concentrated in the Central Building on the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th floors. The Central Building also has two eateries (Café Fuji and Café Friends) both located on the second floor. Due to the location of these cafes please expect a lunchtime rush.
The Educational Materials Exhibition (EME), will return to the 1,632 square meter Large Gymnasium in the Athletics Building. Registration will be based in here as well as information booths regarding accommodation, Tokyo information and any other general queries you may have. There will also be a small cloak and bag area next to Pre-Registration. There is a small lounge area located just outside the EME where drinks and food are allowed. (We ask that participants refrain from bringing any food or drinks into the EME.) On the other side of the lounge, participants are encouraged to take some time out in the Happy Room.
The Arts Building will again host our plenaries on Saturday and Sunday in the Main Hall, as well as a professional production of Cyrano de Bergerac presented by ArtSpot on Sunday (4:00 pm). There is also a secondary cloak room located in the lounge area to the left of the entrance. On the second floor of the Arts Building is Restaurant Toki. This restaurant is large, serves a variety of Japanese and Western food and has reasonably priced lunch set meals.
In the International Exchange Building all of our activities will be happening in the Reception Hall. The building is most conveniently located via the walkway to the left of the elevators on the second floor of the Central Building. The Reception Hall will host the Welcome Party on Friday, the Best of JALT on Saturday, a charity event for Tohoku on Sunday (please check the program for further details), and will be divided into three rooms (Reception Hall 1, 2 and 3) for JALT-related meetings.
