Information For Presenters – Poster Presentations

Poster Format

Your poster will be hosted and posted on the JALT conference website. Please prepare your poster as a single PDF file. We cannot accept Word, PowerPoint, JPEG, or other formats. Your poster PDF must be only one page. Horizontal or vertical orientations are acceptable. You will be able to upload your PDF to the conference website allowing you to share these in advance and during the conference itself. Instructions on how to do this will be sent later.

JALT Competition

This year, we will be running a competition for best poster design. You just might win the competition and take home the first prize. Please design your poster just as you would for an in-person poster presentation.

Pre-recorded video

We are offering you the option to share a pre-recorded video to help explain and/or expand-on your poster. We recommend that these videos be 2-15 minutes in length. They will be hosted on the JALT Conference YouTube channel. A link to your video will be included with your poster PDF. Please contact us if you have not received an email message regarding this.

Zoom Session

Q+A is vital to a poster presentation. Each poster has a 90-min Zoom session set up for questions and answers. Do not worry, you do not need to get a 90-minute lecture prepared. Just be ready to talk about your poster to eager conference visitors. We ask that you make every possible effort to be at your assigned Zoom session. Visitors will be able to come and go as they please. You will have a Zoom host to handle such duties. You do not need to worry about managing hosting duties, we want you to focus on and enjoy your Q+A time.

Scheduling

LIVE Zoom Poster sessions will be held from:

10:45 AM – 12:15 PM on Saturday (Nov 21)
1:25 PM – 2:55 PM on Saturday (Nov 21)
4:45 PM – 6:15 PM on Saturday(Nov 21)
10:45 AM – 12:15 PM on Sunday (Nov 22)
1:25 PM – 2:55 PM on Sunday (Nov 22)
4:45 PM – 6:15 PM on Sunday (Nov 22)

Please check the email with the subject “scheduling details” for your JALT2020 presentation from the conf-data at alt.org address for details of the session you have been allocated.

Extra Materials

If you have any additional handouts or worksheets you wish to share, please do so during your live Zoom session. This also applies for any additional short video clip you may wish to share.
