Information for Presenters
•
Preregistration
All presenters should have preregistered for the conference by the preregistration deadline of October 4th. If you failed to preregister, you can register onsite at the conference. You will be charged at the full onsite rate plus a 2,000 yen handling charge to cover administrative costs.
Equipment & Presentation Rooms
This year JALT is providing projectors to presenters at no charge. However, due to the costs WINC charges to use the screens in each room, we are not going to use screens and instead will project on the white boards available in each room. An exception is in the larger rooms used by featured speakers and plenary speakers, where we will use the screens. Thank you for your cooperation.
For your presentation:
Digital projectors will be provided, but bring any connectors you would normally need to connect to the VGA cables.
The projectors have HDMI ports, but you will need to bring your own HDMI cable if you want to connect to the HDMI port.
Due to the substantial extra cost required, we are NOT using the screens in the rooms. Instead please project on to the wall or white board.
Any other equipment, including computers, audio speakers, and any special adapters for connecting to projectors, must be provided by you.
Student volunteers will be working in presentation rooms to assist presenters with timing. Thank you for cooperating with their reminders to wrap up presentations or Q and A in a timely manner..
Please do not attach anything to the presentation room or hallway walls, as the site has strict rules about this.
Ethernet ports for wired Internet access can be used in the presentation rooms, but you will need to bring your own ethernet cable. Wi-fi access will not be available, and we cannot guarantee Internet access in any of the presentation rooms.
JALT Postconference Publication
Transformation in Language Education
All noncommercial presenters at JALT2016 are cordially invited to submit a paper based on their presentation for publication in Transformation in Language Education, the offcial JALT Postconference Publication.
Just as all presentations were vetted prior to the conference, all conference papers will also be subjected to peer review. A paper published in the Postconference Publication qualifies as a refereed publication. The publication also functions as an important reference point for language teaching in Japan and internationally and is an overview of what happened at JALT2016. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to submit a paper. For more information on submitting, including an online submissions form, please go to http://jalt-publications.org/proceedings
The deadline for submissions is January 5, 2017.
