JALT2021 Information for Attendees and Presenters

Presenters and Attendees

All attendees, and presenters who have opted to do a live presentation, will need a Zoom account, to be able to join presentations. Free Zoom accounts are available from zoom.us.

Presenters

If you have opted to do a live presentation

At the time of their presentation, presenters will need to sign into Zoom with their account. However, they will not be running the presentation itself. This will be hosted in JALT’s Zoom account and there will be a room host assigned to each session. Access to the presentations will be through https://jalt2021.edzil.la/.

Presenters should have the latest version of Zoom installed on their computers. Presenters are recommended to use a computer connected to LAN, but it is possible to deliver presentations over wireless or even with a tablet such as an iPad.

Presenters will need sound and video input. Installed microphones and webcams may be sufficient. Standalone microphones, lapel mics, headset microphones or ear-buds may all improve sound quality.

Training sessions will be available for presenters, and we encourage presenters to practice their presentations over Zoom with friends or colleagues. More information will be available at https://jalt2021.edzil.la.

If you have opted to do a pre-recorded presentation

Even if you have opted for a video presentation, you will be expected to join your scheduled session at the conference to answer questions and discuss the content of your presentation with other attendees.

Information on Video Content for JALT2021 Presenters

For all JALT2021 presenters, if you are giving a pre-recorded session, have a promotional video for your session, or have original video content that is part of your session or accompanies it, you have three options to make it available:

Send us the video via the Google Form below. We will upload your video to the JALT YouTube channel where it will be publicly available. You must include the jalt2021.edzil.la ID when you send us your video. Note, this is not the same as the JALT ID. You can find this ID when you associate your sessionin the edzilla system. It will help if you can send the video by the 31st of October.
If your video is on your own YouTube channel you can add your video as an asset to your session in jalt2021.edzil.la. You can see instructions in the “How to…” menu on the edzilla site.
If you have trouble adding your video to your session, please send us the link using the Google Form.
