The Financial Steering Committee (FSC) is an advisory committee responsible for overseeing the creation of JALTโs national budget and considering long-term fiscal approaches and policy. The group is comprised of a chair, the Board of Directors (BoD), publications,ย chapter and SIG liaisons, and central office staff.
The FSC meets regularly from December to February and works on producing an appropriate budget based on recent financial activity and trends. The preparation cycle culminates in the presentation of the budget at the Executive Board meeting (EBM) in February for review and approval. This version of the budget is then voted on by all JALT members at the Ordinary General Meeting (OGM) at the time of the June EBM.
As the preparation process is open, JALT members may request to observe FSC meetings that are held at EBMs.
