Code of Conduct (CoC) Committee

The JALT Code of Conduct Committee is dedicated to supporting a safe, respectful, and productive environment for all JALT members, volunteers, staff, and event participants. The committeeโ€™s primary role is to listen to and address concerns raised by the JALT community regarding personal and professional conduct.

Our most common activities involve assisting individuals with conflict resolution by offering advice, providing neutral perspectives, and facilitating mediated dialogues. In rare instances where more formal intervention is necessary, the committee may initiate a disciplinary review process.

Operating independently and reporting directly to the JALT Auditor, the committee does not itself issue disciplinary actions but can make recommendations to the JALT Board of Directors for appropriate action. We are committed to ensuring fair treatment, confidentiality, and respectful communication in all matters brought before us.

The Code of Conduct Committee may be contacted by email at the address below. All current committee members (and only current committee members) will receive messages sent to this address. This address should be used as the initial point of contact for anyone who may have business for the committee.
