Study Abroad SIG 2026 Conference
October 17 @ 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
The landscape of international education is evolving. Shifts toward regional engagement, rising travel costs influenced by global energy dynamics, and broader geopolitical uncertainties are reshaping how students and institutions connect across borders. While these changes present challenges, they also create opportunities to rethink how global learning is designed and delivered.
โใIn this context, study abroad continues to adapt. New models of collaboration, more diverse destinations, and innovative approaches to international engagement are expanding the possibilities for meaningful cross-cultural learning.
ใThis year’s JALT Study Abroad SIG Annual Conference, held atย Kyushu Sangyo Universityย in Fukuoka, invites educators, administrators, and researchers to explore these developments together. Under the theme โInternational Education in a Changing World,โ the conference provides a forum for sharing ideas, practices, and perspectives that will shape the future of study abroad.
