(1) Motivating Low-level Learners to Communicate
(2) Building up Students’ Ability to Discuss a Wide Range of Topics
(1) We will look at some ideas for motivating low-level students to speak out. We will focus on how to engage and motivate students through puzzles, building anticipation, rooting the syllabus in familiar language and patterns, and personalization.
(2) David Paul has a new course, Discussion Skills, which is effective in building up students’ ability to discuss a wide range of topics. The course, designed for high school, university and adults, has topics such as friends, family, work, travel, education, gender issues, politics, and more.
