Workshop and discussion: What can we do about AI in the EFL classroom?
May 10 @ 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM
AI tools like ChatGPT and other generative AI have exploded in recent years. Most of us now use them in many parts of our daily and professional lives. This is especially true in education, where their impact has been both wide and deep.
This workshop and discussion will focus on how AI has changed our work as English teachers. We will think about some of the challenges posed by AI on traditional education. Participants will share their own experiences and perspectives. This session, sponsored by AI detector GPTZero, will also include a hands-on activity where teachers both create a text using ChatGPT and use an AI detector to gauge its effectiveness and suitability for the EFL classroom.
