Theron Muller – Streamlining Research and Teaching Practices – February 22nd 2026

Theron Muller is an Associate Professor at Waseda University’s Faculty of Human Sciences whose research focuses on academic publishing, language teaching, and teacher development.

This interactive workshop discussed different tools and strategies to make research and teaching processes more streamlined and efficient. Teachers came ready to discuss the pain points in their research and teaching praxis and to share how they addressed and overcome them. As an interactive workshop, educators shared the challenges that they faced in their research and teaching and suggested ideas on how overcome them.

Theron shared his great experience in managing grades and grading, communicating evaluations to students, managing journal article PDFs, finding relevant, up-to-date literature, synchronous and asynchronous online collaborations with colleagues on writing and presenting, and whether and how generative AI tools may help to streamline some processes. As someone who has been researching and teaching for more than 20 years, he was able to facilitate the discussion and share some of the strategies that he has developed and implemented.
