Language Teaching Workshop Title: Pronunciation Learning ~In Terms of Discrete Sounds and Typical Rhythm~ 演題:「英語入門期における音声学習～音とリズムの観点から～」

まず、初級学習者にとっての発音習得の必要性について石田氏の見解をお話しされた後、実際に石田氏が教育現場で実践されている調音指導やフォニックス指導の説明がありました。授業に取り入れられているKahootやGoogle Classroom、Quizletなどといったアプリケーションの紹介もありました。ワークショップ全体を通して、講師と参加者の双方向のやりとりが多くなされ、参加者は実際に発音練習をしたりゲームをしたりしながら理解を深めていました。
In the first part of the presentation, Mr. Ishida explained the importance of teaching learners clear English pronunciation in the beginner classroom. After that, he introduced some tools and activities that he uses in his classes to teach learners articulation and phonics. He also introduced some applications that he uses, such as Kahoot, Google Classroom, and Quizlet. This workshop included a lot of interaction between the speaker and participants. Thus, the participants were able to not only understand the content but also get hands-on experience with the materials. Furthermore, they could find new ways to check their (and their students’) English pronunciation while enjoying various activities with the other participants.
