Shizuoka Convention & Arts Center “Granship”
For JALT2018, we will be returning to the Shizuoka Convention & Arts Center “Granship” in Shizuoka, midway between Nagoya and Tokyo at the foot of Mt. Fuji. Designed by Pritzker Prize winning architect Isozaki Arata, the Granship is a beautiful and functional modern convention and arts center just minutes from hotels, nightlife, and shopping in the center of the city.

Getting to the Granship from JR Shizuoka Station
Take the Tokaido-Honsen from JR Shizuoka to Higashi-Shizuoka Station (3 minutes, one stop). A map from the station can be found here.
Parking and Accessibility
The adjoining parking lot has space for hundreds of cars. Parking is regularly ¥200 per hour but attendees can get a discount rate of 100 yen/hour. There are four fare adjustment machines (精算機) near the elevator hall on the 1st floor entrance. To get the discount, please settle your payment by using this machine before you leave the building (before heading the parking lot).  
Cars may enter and exit 24 hours a day and there is a maximum fee of ¥1,400 for 24 hours. There are 7 spaces dedicated to wheel chair accessibility. Two additional handicap accessible parking spaces are available next to the north central entrance to the building.
