The Teacher Education & Development Special Interest Group (TED SIG) is one of the special interest groups in the Japan Association for Language Teaching (JALT). Our purpose is to provide a network for those who want to help themselves and others become better teachers.

Conference preparation is going well. Final inspection visits at the venue have been done. The venue looks fabulous and has a great view. The vast majority of proposals have been vetted and we are just putting the finishing touches to the schedule. Check the conference website for more details.

Most of us will be using computers to some extent in the classroom. Google recently had a meeting in Kobe showcasing how to use their products in education, which a few members attended. Microsoft has a program related to using Surface in schools. Apple also has its own Apple Distinguished Educator Program, which only accepts applications during a limited window. That window is now open for this year's program in Japan. The link can be found here if you are interested.
