The next meeting for the Chiba Chapter is on Sunday, May 18th, 2008 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

1. The interactive whiteboard may soon be a feature of all language classrooms. With a little ingenuity and 6000 yen, teachers can introduce the technology into any space with a projector or television. The process is uncomplicated but the results are spectacular. Participants will have the opportunity to try it and discuss applications.

2. Extensive reading can increase motivation and confidence as well as vocabulary and reading fluency. Even very weak students can benefit from a new series of graded readers. Setting up and managing a class library will be demonstrated.

The meeting is at SATY Bunka Hall, Room 3 (4th Floor), 1 min. walk from Inage Station east exit on JR Sobu Line, map.
Cost for non-JALT members: 500 yen; for JALT members: free

Call For Presenters

Chiba JALT Chapter is looking for speakers to present throughout 2007, and beyond. We are interested in receiving proposals on a wide variety of themes and invite those interested to send a description outlining their proposal and a short abstract to the chapter Program Chair, Bill Dimoski . Presenters who are chosen receive 10,000Yen honorarium and riembursement for transportation costs.
