This workshop is intended to help you become a better judge of your students’ speaking. The presenter will outline a group “small-talk” type test that targets an often under-represented facet of speaking assessments – interactional language and skills. Participants will then view video samples of the test and take part in a training session with the aims being to A) experience the test, B) experience being a rater and C) discuss the characteristics of interactional language so that they may better adapt the test to their educational contexts.
