Don't Waste Time on Drama

Date and Time:
Saturday, 30 November 2013 - 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Speaker:
Ken Wilson

Abstract

A lot of teachers would like to give their students a chance to improvise and 'be creative', but worry that improvisation activities will be too demanding for them. Some worry that drama activities may take a lot of time to set up and carry out, and therefore not offer good time-value. In this workshop, we will try out a series of simple activities that will result in astonishing feats of creativity by your students. Most of these activities are self-regulating, which means that students are only required to say things that they CAN say, so you can use them with students from elementary level onwards. We will concentrate on activities that don't take a lot of time, and - more importantly - require little or no preparation time.
