MoodleMoot Japan 2011 includes presentations and workshops to learn about Moodle, the very popular open-source course management system. Anyone interested in sharing and/or learning about Moodle is welcome to participate. The call for papers is due November 1st, 2010. Attendees vary in expertise from newbies to developers and administrators, and represent various academic disciplines and non-academic areas. Presentations will cover a wide range of topics including Moodle course development, Moodle module and plugin development, system administration, and teaching techniques, testing and evaluation using Moodle. Welcome to the JALT Computer Assisted Language Learning Special Interest Group
The JALT CALL SIG serves the interests of language teaching professionals who are interested in bringing together knowledge and skills of technology and language learning. CALL practitioners work in a variety of educational settings: private language schools, elementary and secondary schools as well as colleges and universities.
Activities of JALT CALL SIG
The JALT CALL Journal
The JALT CALL SIG publishes a quarterly international refereed journal, which is distributed to all members of the SIG. The JALT CALL Journal encompasses and builds upon the SIG newsletter, Calling Japan, and is committed to excellence in research in all areas within the field of Computer Assisted Language Learning, while at the same time offering teaching ideas and suggestions from teachers' personal experiences.
Annual Conference
This conference is the highlight of the year for the JALT CALL SIG. It allows the members and others interested in CALL to get together, share information and network in order to discuss matters related to computer assisted language learning. The conference includes workshops and presentations, as well an area for sponsors and exhibitors to display their latest materials. Keynote and Plenary speakers are also invited to speak about their areas of expertise. There is also a networking reception. JALTCALL 2011 will be held at Kurume University, in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture from June 3-5, 2011.
